Abstracted Identity is getting close to the 'event' so I figured I'd go ahead n' post these (I've had them sitting around for a little bit now so eh XD)

Extra bits of info under the cut~!

So Caine when Abstracted is the opposite of how most abstractions act- he's skittish and prefers to shove himself into dark corners to hide. he's also semi-concious. bits of him are still aware of everything but the rest isn't and is instead running off of traumatized/scared cat hardware.

Like other abstractions he's also incapable of talking, but the sounds he does make are dog/cat like, along with sounding kinda like the shriekers from the Tremors movies.

He's also incapable of not crying. the tears are permanently cascading down. the only time they slow is when he's around Kinger, but sometimes Pomni can get them slowed as well. at that point though there's still tears- their just only coming from his original eyes instead.

Obvs he likes Kinger the most, even when the chesspiece isn't fully lucid. (Kinger's dad energy is too powerful) Pomni is a close second though (their eachother's emotional support sibling) Ragatha can also usually calm him down, but not as effectively. Zooble and Gangle he's kinda just neutral to (they set of eachother's anxiety.) and Jax is... Jax.

Abstracted Identity has been overtaking my thoughts and this scene has been rotating in my mind ever since I read it

I went into an animated fevered state and made this in all one go lol, and as a first 'finished' rough draft animation I think it came out alright

I wanted to get this posted before the next chapter because I feel something big is going to happen and I know this isn't canon to how it will go down this is just my silly little thought

One of things I love about both of these stories is the different tones of Caine's Abstraction.

With both, the transformation was absolutely gut wrenching before, tonely, shifting.

In Abstracted Identity, the tone after Caine Abstracts is quiet and somber.

In Hollow Words (quite recently as of this post), it's loud and volatile.

Both are equally powerful in their own right. Kudos to both Knight and Spam!

This has actually sparked a new Caine-related headcanon for me. I'll type it out on a different post cuz this one is for praising two glorious Caine-centric fics.

Making other Caines in Gacha Club pt. 2

Next up is Caine from the fic "Abstracted Identity"!

The fic that got me fully involved in the Caine angst portion of the fandom, with also the most fascinating twist on Caine abstracting to me

Used the face accessories to add his fangs and the abstraction tendrils on the second one, as well as using darker colors for his clothes, and editing the pupils slightly to give him his red pupils

Also had to add his bells of course, that's like the thing everyone knows him for lmao-

Is this also a safe space to admit that I genuinely teared up at the end of chapter 19 specifically Caine's final thoughts-

Isn't it funny that most of the games in Kingdom Hearts end in tragedies, or very bittersweetly, AT BEST. And even the handful that are technically happy endings have the underlying pressure of the upcoming battle, so nothing is ever truly "outright happy."
